I think RSS can be useful because you can search for specific topics that you are interested in using a specific search. I think that RSS can help you avoid information overload because you can follow very specific blogs that have topics that relate to what you are looking for professionally.

I think that RSS will help me keep updated on current issues in educational leadership. As an aspiring administrator it will be important for me to keep well informed on issues related to education and educational reform. I liked using the subscribe button because it allowed me to search for topics that I am interested in and then provided me with options for subscription. I would like to be able to see more information on each feeder before I subscribe.

I think using educational blogs can be successful if used to keep students informed and allow them to interact with you about educational happenings. Students can really interact with educators. I do worry some about the times when student's cross the boundaries of appropriate vs. inappropriate. There is a limit to what we can do about web posting outside of the school day because students are protected by the freedom of speech ammendment.

I am participating in 23 things because it is part of the professional learning that we are being asked to complete. 23 things will hopefully allow me to better understand the technological world that our students are living in as technology is now a part of our daily lives. I have always thought that it is important to filter what you say on the internet because it can be viewed by many. I am interested to learn through this program not only for my professional use but for personal as well as I have children of my own who use this technology daily.
